Frog mortality project This fungal infection of a frog population in England is a rare observation. Living under water for considerable periods and often in close proximity, frog disease transmission can be rapid leaving amphibians vulnerable to rapid change in population size.  In the early 1990′s, HCI together with the Institute of Zoology were one of the earliest organisations to recognise the  contribution and impact of disease in world amphibian declines and to act by beginning extensive research studies.
